Gulf Coast (MS) Chapter

President's Message

Thank you for visiting our website.  The Gulf Coast (MS) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated has been serving the Coast of Mississippi since 2017.  Our chapter has been committed to the National and Southern Area core values of friendship and service.

I am so excited to be the second President of our chapter after serving as one of the two organizers of the Gulf Coast (MS) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated.

We are a chapter of thirty-one highly accomplished, dedicated professional women who are active in our communities as well as globally.

The chapter’s vision is to enrich the lives of  our members, the larger community, and to work together achieving community goals. The mission is to promote and engage in educational, civic and intercultural activities.

Since 1946, The Links, Incorporated has provided exceptional service to society through philanthropic efforts and transformational programming. As a group of professional and influential African American women, we are a circle of sisters linked in friendship to make a significant impact within our communities and the world.

Through the outstanding programming of The Links, Incorporated five facets (National Trends and Services, The Arts, Services to Youth, International Trends and Services and Health and Human Services) we bring awareness to issues, provide opportunities to serve those in need and partner with other organizations.  We thank all our sponsors for their support of our programs.

As you peruse our website, we hope that you are able to view a glimpse of our members, programs, and what makes our work so important to us and others.

In Friendship and Service,

Catherine Adams Mason

Chapter President

Gulf Coast (MS) Chapter

The Links, Incorporated

Congratulations!

On March 18, 2019 Carmen Walters, Ph.D. of Ocean Springs, MS became the 14th President and second woman to lead Tougaloo College in Tougaloo, Mississippi.

Link Carmen is a charter member of the Gulf Coast (MS) Chapter of the Links, Incorporated. She served as the treasurer of our interest group and currently serves as the inaugural Program Chairman of the chapter. She has been instrumental in the successful implementation of the Chapter’s Umbrella Program, “Linking the Dream” a Youth Facet led program for at-risk middle school students. She has further shared her talents as part of the planning team for the 2018 Southern Area Leadership Conference. What greater gift could we give to The Links HBCU initiative than the leadership of one of our own at a HBCU institution.
